The Song of Joy: (Joy to the World) – 4-Day Devotional

Day 3: Joy Requires Repentance

Scripture: 1 John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Hymn Stanza:
"No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found."

Reflection:
Sin disrupts our connection with God and steals our joy. Jesus came to make His blessings flow as far as the curse of sin is found. True joy begins with repentance—a turning away from sin and a surrender to God’s will. Through Christ’s forgiveness, we are restored and renewed.

Question: Is there anything in your life that you need to bring before God in repentance? What’s stopping you from surrendering fully to Him?

Prayer: Lord, I confess my sins before You. Cleanse me and renew my spirit, so I may walk in the fullness of Your joy.

Amen.
