The Song of Love 3-Day Devotional (The Little Drummer Boy) Day 2
Day 2: Confess and Be Honest with Yourself
Scripture: John 3:17-18 (NIV)
"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the
world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not
believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of
God’s one and only Son."
Reflection:
Before we can fully receive the gift of God’s love, we must be honest about our need for
Him. The Little Drummer Boy didn’t pretend to have more than he did. He confessed his
poverty, saying, “I have no gift to bring that’s fit to give our King.” This humility reflects
what God asks of us: to confess our weaknesses and trust Him to fill the gaps. Without
Jesus, we are lost, but with Him, we are redeemed and restored.
Like the Little Drummer Boy, we don’t need to have it all together to approach Jesus.
We just need to come as we are, trusting that His grace is sufficient.
Prayer:
Lord, I confess my need for You. Without You, I am nothing. Thank You for loving me
despite my flaws and for offering salvation through Jesus, Amen.
Challenge:
Spend time in personal prayer, confessing an area of struggle, sin or need. Trust God to
meet you in your honesty.
