Learning to Lie Down: 3 Day Devotional Day 1

Day 1: Acknowledge the Shepherd’s Care for You

 Scripture:
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” – Psalm 23:1 (NKJV)

Reflection:
Before rest comes trust. The sheep must first recognize the Shepherd. David, a former shepherd himself, speaks from experience: the Shepherd protects, provides, and gives peace. In a world that constantly tells us to hustle, push, and control, Psalm 23 invites us to surrender.
You don’t have to oversee everything when you know the One who oversees it all. Trusting God means releasing your grip and leaning into His guidance, provision, and timing. He’s not only watching over you—He’s walking with you.

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, today I release my need to control every outcome. Help me to trust Your provision,
protection, and purpose. You are my Shepherd. I lack nothing.

Consider:
Where are you striving to control things that should be surrendered to the Shepherd?
