3 Day Devotional: Better Together-Day 1

Day 1 — We Weren’t Made To Do Life Alone

Scripture
Mark 2:1–3
1A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. 2 They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them.

Genesis 2:18
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

Devotional
Before Jesus speaks. Before healing happens. Before forgiveness is declared. There is community. The house is full. The room is crowded. And a man who cannot move on his own is being carried by four people who refuse to leave him stuck.

That reflects God’s design. We were never meant to do life alone.

Isolation can feel easier. Safer. More controlled. But isolation also keeps us from the help God often sends through people. Sometimes strength is not pushing through by yourself.

Sometimes strength is letting someone help carry you.

You are not meant to do life alone.

Fasting Practice.
Reach out to someone you trust and be honest about where you are. Ask God to show you how He has gifted you to strengthen others — through encouragement, prayer, presence, or service — and use that gift intentionally today.

Prayer
God, help me release isolation and receive the people You’ve placed in my life. Give me courage to ask for help and grace to help others when they need it. Amen.
