3 Day Devotional: The Authority of Love - Day 3

Scripture: Mark 2:9–12
9 Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”

Reflection:
Jesus didn’t just heal the man — He forgave him. Because the greatest miracle is not walking. The greatest miracle is restoration with God.

Only God can forgive sin. And Jesus forgave sin. That is the declaration: Jesus is God and Jesus is love with authority.

His love does not just comfort you. His love restores you. His love changes your standing with God. You don’t have to fix yourself first. You come to Jesus — and He does what only He can do.

Fasting Practice:
Remembering 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness”, Write down one thing you need to release to God. Then destroy the paper as a symbol of release.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for forgiving me completely. Help me release guilt and shame and walk in the freedom You give. Teach me to live like someone who has been made new. Amen.
