3 Day Devotional: Better Together-Day 2

Day 2 — We Need People Who Help Us Get To Jesus

Scripture
Mark 2:3–4
3 Some men came, bringing to Jesus a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.

Devotional
The men in this story did not heal him. They did not fix him. They did not replace Jesus. They just refused to let him stay where he was.

They pushed through a crowd. Climbed onto a roof. Broke through barriers. All for one reason — get him to Jesus.

That forces a real question for us: Are the relationships in your life helping you get closer to Jesus, or are they helping obstacles stay in place?

Not every relationship is meant to carry spiritual weight. But the closest people in your life should be helping you move toward Christ — not normalizing distance from Him, not making excuses for spiritual drift, and not becoming obstacles themselves.

And we also have to ask the mirror question: Are you helping the people in your life get closer to Jesus, or are you helping them stay comfortable where they are?

Sometimes God uses your words, your prayers, your invitation, or your presence to help someone else move closer to Him.

Fasting Practice
Be intentional about helping someone move closer to Jesus — pray with them, invite them, encourage them, or share what Christ is doing in your life. Ask God to use your gifts in a way that points someone toward Him today.

Prayer
Jesus, surround me with people who lead me toward You. And make me the kind of person who helps others find their way to You. Amen.
