3 Day Devotional: And Peter - Day 2

Day 2: The Reliability of Jesus’ Word

Scripture:
And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.” — Mark 16:5–7 (NKJV)

Devotional Reflection:
The women came looking for a body, but instead they received a word—Jesus is risen, just like He said. This moment isn’t just about power; it’s about reliability. Jesus didn’t just rise—He kept His word. Everything unfolded exactly as He told them it would. And that matters, because our faith is built on trusting that what Jesus says is true. Still, this wasn’t easy for them to process. It didn’t match their expectations, and it felt almost too good to believe. We face that same tension when God moves in ways we didn’t anticipate. But the resurrection reminds us that even when we don’t understand, we can trust Him—because He has already proven Himself faithful.

Reflection Questions:
Where are you struggling to trust what God has said?
What promise of God do you need to hold onto right now?
How would your outlook change if you fully believed Jesus is reliable?

Prayer:
Jesus, thank you that your word is trustworthy. Help me to believe you, even when things don’t make sense. Strengthen my faith and remind me that you always do what you say. Amen.
