Teamwork: A Lesson in Trust 3 Day Devotional

Day 1: The Burden of Doing It All Alone

Scripture:
"And so it was, on the next day, that Moses sat to judge the people; and the people stood before Moses from morning until evening." — Exodus 18:13 (NKJV)

"But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun." — Exodus 17:12 (NKJV)

Reflection:
In Exodus 18, Moses sat alone, judging the people from morning until evening — weighed down and worn out. Yet just one chapter earlier, in Exodus 17, God had already shown Moses another way: Aaron and Hur physically held up Moses’ hands during battle, and the people prevailed because Moses allowed others to support him.

Victory didn’t come through Moses' strength alone. It came through trust and teamwork.

In our lives too, strength isn’t shown by doing it all alone — it’s shown by trusting the people God sends to help. God’s design for leadership, family, and ministry is always shared strength, not isolated struggle.

Prayer Prompt:
"Lord, forgive me for trying to carry the weight by myself. Teach me to recognize those You send to strengthen me. Give me the humility to receive help and the heart to bear others' burdens as well."

Challenge Question:
Where are you trying to carry the burden alone — and who might God be calling you to trust and receive help from?
