3 Day Devotional: What You're Carrying is Helping Somebody - Day 3

DAY 3 — Carrying Hope for Somebody Else

Scripture: Luke 1:39–45 (NKJV)
39 Now Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, to a
city of Judah,
40 and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth.
41 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe
leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
42 Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among
women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!
43 But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the
babe leaped in my womb for joy.
45 Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things
which were told her from the Lord.”

Devotional Reflection
Elizabeth didn’t just carry a child — she carried hope for somebody else, and she released that hope through a Spirit-filled blessing. When Mary arrived unsure, overwhelmed, and carrying the weight of her divine calling, Elizabeth’s words became the confirmation Mary desperately needed. Her blessing reminded Mary that God was truly at work, that she wasn’t alone, and that her faith was not misplaced. Sometimes the hope God places in us is meant to be spoken — meant to strengthen someone else’s trembling faith. Your testimony, your affirmation, your Spirit-led words may become the very hope someone needs to walk boldly into their assignment.

Reflection Questions
1. Who may need the hope of your words, your story, or your blessing this week?
2. How has God positioned you — like Elizabeth — to speak courage into someone else?
3. What encouragement can you share today that might become confirmation for another
believer?

Prayer
Lord, thank You for allowing me to carry hope that can bless and strengthen others. Fill my
words with Your Spirit so that what I speak brings courage, clarity, and faith to those around me. Make me available and attentive to the people who need the hope You have placed in me. Amen.
