3 Day Devotional: Jesus is Lord pt. 1 - Day 3

Day 3 — A Recognition of Reality

Scripture:
Philippians 2:9–11 (NKJV)
“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Matthew 7:21 (NKJV)
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”

Reflection:

Paul paints a picture of a future moment when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. It’s not a matter of if—it’s a matter of when. This is the recognition of reality: all creation will one day acknowledge what heaven already knows. But Jesus warned that not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” will enter the kingdom. Confession without surrender is empty. Some will bow in worship; others will bow in acknowledgment. For the believer, that confession is not compulsion—it’s communion. The Lord we bow before is the same Lord who bowed to serve, who humbled Himself unto death, even death on a cross. So today, we bow willingly, joyfully, and faithfully—because when we make Him Lord now, we begin to live in the truth that all will one day confess.

Reflection Questions:
•Is my confession of Jesus as Lord matched by my obedience to Him?
•How does my daily life declare His Lordship to others?

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I confess You as Lord—not just with my lips but with my life. May my obedience bring glory to the Father until that day when every tongue proclaims Your name. Amen.
