3 Day Devotional: As If It Were You - Day 2

Day 2 — We Should Remain HUMBLED — None of Us are Innocent

Scripture
“Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself.”
— Hebrews 13:3a (NLT)

Devotional Reflection
Hebrews never asks us to remember those in prison because they are innocent—it asks us to remember them as if we were there ourselves. Scripture reminds us that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory, and none of us stands righteous apart from grace. The difference between “us” and “them” is often circumstance, exposure, and mercy—not moral superiority. Humility grows when we admit that apart from grace, any one of us could be standing in their place.

Reflection Questions
Where might comparison be replacing humility in your heart?
How does acknowledging your need for grace change how you view others?

Prayer
Lord, strip away pride and replace it with humility. Help me remember that I live by grace alone, and let that truth shape how I see others. Amen.
